Ad Hoc Poem Example 1
This is a poem I wrote for a Pub in Bicester. It is a play on Kipling’s ‘If’ Poem. The Star is now sadly a block of flats. This poem narrates about many of the local characters who regularly frequented the pub. I did some of my first, ever comedy gigs there.
* In this poem the ‘Northern Monkey Poet’ is me. ‘Simone’ is the previous landlady:

I wrote back this in tribute to a very good friend of mine, who passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly. I never saw him without a smile on his face. He was larger than life:
