This was written for a Dear friend of mine ‘Graham “Charlie” Warner’ upon his retirement, after decades of selfless hard work and dedication to the Household Division. Charlie was very much an unsung hero, who deserved the title of ‘Legend’ so I made sure I wrote him a Legendary tale:
Many of you may be familiar with the Former Horse Guards Garrison Sergeant Major ‘Billy Mott” (if not – Google him). A friend of mine and a legendary character. I wrote this poem for him when he retired:
This was written for a couple of very good friends; a fabulous Irish couple, who got married in Kilkenny. It’s my interpretation of their tale… but with some nonsense humour and poetic licence thrown in for good measure:
